Devil in the Sea

The abandoned sea banks rock the decaying boats

That waver endlessly, against the barren docks,

Once, so alive and populated with thriving catches,

It now resembles a wasteland, long forgotten about,

But has it, just because no foot dares to occupy

The unattended pier, does is get misplaced

To fend for itself against the punishment of time,

Slowly eroding the town into a whisper, all because

A mystery beyond the black, the Devil in the sea,

Its existence, clouded by a myth spread into panic,

A steep decline into oblivion, with no way back,

A horrid stench of rotting death pervading the heavy air,

The scarred town living under the umbrella

Of this over told fable, to the point where it’s merely

A story told, repeating off different tongues, but

It’s true depth has been diluted, fabricated

Into a ghost encounter, in which the lone survivor

Still buried in a living grave, wanders the true story

That won’t relinquish its talons from his forgotten mind,

He has lost recollection of his entire past,

Except his Devil in the sea, which haunts his consciousness,

It seemed like a distant dream for so long, until decay

Spread over all he knew, and all that was left

Was the glare from the dark empty water,

On his last day, he started from the dock into the abyss,

Tightened his tie, and fell into the arms of the sea,

But not before leaving, his telling of what happened,

The day that had lived in infamy, for a different reason,

“I remember nothing, but the day I came to face

The Devil that roams the sea beside this stink town,

It’s why I was so attached to the sail, free from the idiots,

I was happy amongst the open serene waters,

And I knew them well, I navigated every channel,

Bestowing my knowledge on a young eager sailor,

We would come back with bountiful catches,

There was nothing better, I’d live in the sea if possible,

One day, there were talks of an impending storm,

But mere rumbles weren’t going to keep me from my escape,

I went out with the young lad, despite the warnings,

In retrospect, I should have never left the dock,

The winds were forceful, thrusting us off course

Into waters I never sailed, never even seen on any map,

Still within the eye of the storm, we did all that we could

To stay afloat, with gusts of stinging rain beating us,

The boat tipped so far to the side, I lost my grip

Fell into the choppy ice water, swallowing me whole,

The lad did all he could to lift me out from the devour

Into the unsteady pulsating crumbling boat,

Slowly vanishing into the storm, blending into chaos,

The thrashing underwater whirlwind tossing me down

Suffocating light, I saw nothing but the end to it all,

As I looked below me, I found a massive shadow

That appeared as if from the shallow eternal dark,

This shadow was monstrously big, stretched up towards me

But still, a figure of no distinct character,

It seemed to have no end, going past the ocean floor

As it nestled me in it’s unlikely arms, to carry me out,

It leaned toward me, and passed me life in a kiss,

The storm settled, as the sun beamed down shining

Light on an angel, no Devil or monster to fear,

She saved me from the Devil, as I found myself

Reaching up for my boat, from waters I called home,

I searched for her, days that melted into night, endlessly,

So what better way to keep searching, then to die

In the waters that she found me, falling into the story

That has spooked her out of my life, I die to find her,

You’ll only live with a thread, of what you truly desire,

Although you’ll notice it, when it has crashed out

Of existence, pouring out for it, but it’s too late,

It won’t get easier, only more excruciating as you live on,

Searching, for even the slight resemblance, coming up empty.”

Out From the In

image

I found myself, in the dwelling of beasts,
Not beaten, or scared of growling shadows
That hunt, for their next ravaging night,
The devil in them, fills innocent hearts
And turns their light black, taken underground,
And lives with their rapists, myself being one,
I revel in the shedding of their curls
As my friends and I pillage the wasteland
Above the limbo they never wake from,
I shroud myself in the muck, yet before
The incident, I was absent from reality,
Stuck in savagery, and I never flinched away,
I stampeded toward it, greedy for my meal,
Now, I fear my unquenchable hunger
Until I saw her, taken by my fellow demons,
About to tear her flesh, and devour her soul,
Her eyes struck me, encompassed in her shutter,
I pulled them off, saving her from becoming
Our feast, but putting myself, on the plate,
I suggest comfort while we dine, some class,
They agreed and we brought her down below,
Locked her away, until we were ready
But I would never be ready, ever again,
I snuck to her pin, tried to converse with her
As she hid away from me, my beastly exterior,
I hardly understood why, was she aware
Beyond the havoc, that I crushed bones
Within my chomp, and left little scraps,
She feared me and my entire pack,
I couldn’t give her in, she stirred alive
Complexities that had never surfaced before,
I begged her to look at me, to capture
Her glimpse at me that set me free,
She did, and dropping a tear into the dust
Reviving in me, what was lost to the blindfold,
We finally talked, expressed fears and guilt,
As I shed my beast, into man,
I needed to save her from the horror
And disgust that was coming for her,
I was ready to sacrifice myself, for her safety
So that she would tell this story to others,
Warning them of the evil that lurked inside
What was a man, tainted by sinners,
We heard footsteps trickling down, as I hid
Waiting in the shadow, then pounced
On a supposed friend, and had an idea,
A meal would be served tonight, but she
Would not be the honorary delight,
She would flee to the surface, and vanish
From ever being seen by these animals,
The stage was set, as I brought over
The silver platter to the salivating demons,
All the while they’re shoveling
What they believed, was innocence in curls,
Was in fact, their fallen turbulent brother,
Suspicions arose, when they noticed
I had not taken a single bite, which caused
Growls and uproars, as my facade faded,
What else to do, but to take as many of them
Down to the fire pits below our cave with me.

Birth of the Grim

Stricken by the monster, lurking in the open,
Feeding, off the blood left on the plank
From numerous lashes, when it strikes,
For it swings on the strings of your fear,
Everywhere you’d be, you’d hear it’s breath
Clouding your pulse, filling your shallow pool
In which you stammer, not really wanting
To stay above the surface, content in the gutter
Of your room, down the hall, in a labyrinth,
Right where this beast needs you,
With safety vanishing deep into void
The monster broadens it’s shoulders and stretches
It’s reach to pick you from the bunch
When your scream is ripe, licks it’s lips,
Sniffing the polluted dirt for the next troubled seed,
An insatiable hunger, a curse upon the monster
As well as a curse upon the petrified living,
Long before this monster trolled rage filled
And a shadow under the wings of fear,
He was consumed in the solace of his love,
Embracing the moments they shared together
Until, the erosion brought her to the doorstep
Where she will stand before the daunting judge,
Knowing, her fate even before the disease
Would strike, it’s final blow, with her in his arms,
Right outside their own living fairytale,
In the cold blanket, of the saddened sky,
Placing his palm upon the earth, the damned
Hearing his plea to spare her, and take him,
A deal, the devil could not resist,
Using him as a tool of fear and death,
His Grim Reaper.

Beyond the Surface

Her fear resides in arms
Silencing her vibrancy in the cold
Still wind that burns through her,
An eclipsed hell she drowns in,
When he leaves her, chained
To the floor of their bed,
Buried, in his possession, he holds
Her in the snap of his finger,
A marionette sitting blankly on his lap,
She lives in absence, running away
Only in her hollowed mind, with no light
At the end of a boundless gorge.

A curious cat pries in, through
Shackled gates of the domain where
Torment, houses its victim,
Drawn in by her cavernous cries
Displayed, in elegant frames along
The walls of this eternal chasm,
The cat nears the clasped horror
That bends the bones of the bellowing
Louder, stiffening, the cat’s cautious Approach as the shadows crash
Against the cat’s terrified expression,
Feeling the impact of clash to flesh
Reverberate through its chilled soul,
It’s heavy breath, fogging up
The colliding torrent engulfing the cat
Who finds the abused,
And the devil, within her
Carving into her, branding her as he
Rips out the light from under her grasp,
This horror, seen by the frightened cat
Scared white, and found elusive
In it’s own noose, as the crucified one
Still lies back, letting the demon
Have his way with her.

Glimpse of What Vanished

The diligence of him carried the world by,
For all he wanted, was to find her light
Hidden, in the darkest recesses of emptiness,
She was still, laying in the dining water
As every sail, went on beside the fear,
The guide bringing them, blocking
Thought in the paralysis of beat,
He stood there, amongst the daring
With fire glaring at his fainting strength,
By the pinch of sight into the beyond
He captures her, in the waning window
Of revival, for she seems further away
Every moment he can’t see her,
He jumps in, falling faster down the singed
Path, eclipsing his decent was the dark
Of the plateau he ascended from,
He crashed to the above originating
Below where he poured night
Into the delusions perched on the table,
Realizing, his glass is empty again,
She’s gone, faded into the whispered wings,
As he gets up, puts foot into grass
And walks up to her grave,
Staring, looking for a glimpse
Of her, to capture.

The Stranded

I have fought many wars,
Fields, encapsulated my prints
On stages of more defeats, than anything,
Traps and barricades were venomous,
As I tried to elude them on my path
Along the exploding shores
Of crashed lives that were, once
By my side, fighting equal battles,
But, lost along the way as I reach tops
Of mountains above eroded river banks
Holding the frightened sanity, crawling
To the foot of their devil,
I stand alone, defeated in my escape,
How can I rescue the stranded?
