Quote -Pablo Neruda

How much he has said
To his love, can’t amount
To what has betrayed his heart,
Those words, never able to
Capture, what stirs in the fire,
Daunting, are those beautiful
Silent moments when nothing is said
When in fact, everything
Is gushing out from all edges
Of emotion, when they drift in each other.

Nightmare III

Three loud distinct knocks
Upon my door,
Muffled steps, as I approach
Walking, a skewed mile,
One step, too close, as the knocks
Start deafening the silence,
Surrounding me in it’s panic
Along with my own
As the door, starts to crack
Bowing to the beast, beyond the portal,
Open wide now, as it enters
Striding, tapping it’s dirty claws
Towards me, backing me
Into a dungeoned corner
Searching for a door, to keep
The beast at bay, from consumption
Of my heart, which belongs to her.

Giving Up a Friend

Here I sit, lost in the life of others,
Watching as they pass by, glancing
At me and my friend
Resting, on my lap,
Soaking in my smell
Panting, unsure of what’s to come,
Unaware that I, can’t bear
It’s stench
Bark
Or wag of it’s tail,
It has become my enemy
Stalking me at every corner,
I’m afraid of it’s sharp
Tapping sound, echoing
In my hollow torment
After emptying the Raven closet
Of all that reminds me of her,
Except, for the full vacant eyes
That follow me,
This friend, is an illusion
Of consonance,

And here I cradle this beast
When a stranger stops,
Awes at the timid creature
Then asks to cradle her,
Like all the many others, I ask
If they would rescue me from
The last of my memory,
Finally, this stranger agreed,
I relinquished my lingering past,
I walked away, empty
Of what mocked my detriment.

As Simple as a Rose

image

She moves through grey mounds
Of gusting clouds, pushing
Through doubt and confusion,
Sipping on the drizzles of faded light,
She balances herself, strolling through
An uneven, cracked dry path,
Nothing but a wasteland
That stretches, over the boundless,
Dusky raggedy dress
Reflective, of her world
Seen seamlessly through her eyes,
Along her path, she finds color
Growing out, from the dead soil,
A cluster of roses rises
From the nothing of the deprived,
She bows down, to sink
In the sight of this spurting fairy tale,
She threads one of the roses
And it melts the prosaic,
Streaming away from her,
Now, with a spark in her eye
And the rose in her hair.

****

He waters the same spot
Everyday, at the exact time
He lost everything,
Before that moment, the world
Had a different bounce,
The sky, expansive and wondrous,
Before that moment, he never knew
A splinter of pain,
But within that moment
He was flooded,
In a crash of light upon
What is now, the eternal dessert,
He waters the spot
She was taken away,
He grows for her,
He continues to change back
What was ripped away from him.

A Key to a Heart

image

The gears have stifled,
Clouds stalking in a chill
That grows, in violent winds,
She plunges into the pillow
Swimming deeper, hoping
To suffocate constant devastation
Of the blind mistakes,
The key to her heart, shared by
Many paralyzing owners,
Villains, of the castle nestling her heart
Play with the daggers they aim,
Careless with the key, as they
Drudge her oceanic pool
Where she fears to dip a toe,
She eludes the shackles of those
Who purposely, trample her heart
As the stars crowd the moon,
Falling to the beaten path,
She gets locked away
While her heart, isn’t as heavily guarded,
For it can’t take another lash
Upon its weakened gears,
One more, and the entire castle
Would tear itself down,
So, she escapes into her own
And buries all emotion,
All hope,
To stay alone in the shadows,
Keeping her heart beside
And the key, not even she
Knows it’s hiding spot.

The Reasons

image

She waits for him
On the island suspended
Above the ugly,
She waits for his warmth
To burst above the horizon,
She patiently counts the ticks
Of the echo
That builds upon her anticipation,
Needing him
To calm her soul,
To nurture her dry heart,
She waits in the tundra orbit
Alone, amongst the crowd of stars,
Until he lays beside her,
She beckons for him
So that she can grow,
She does all this
Without realizing her strength,
That it is she
That is needed by him,
She is the picturesque illuminating
The hidden dark,
She stands taller than the
Light reaches,
He can not compare
To what she does to him,
He burns passion
Above the methodical
For her,
She is his reason
For the short winter,
But when she’s gone,
His fire, grows silent,
The lap around the earth
Is to once again,
Find her
On that solitary island
Where she waits for him.

Hand in Hand

When slits from life
Cut too deep
We’re found thrusting up defenses
Warriors against the sinking,
How do you crawl out
From a grave excavating?

Her and I stand ready
To take down the beast
Flying toward the castle,
Blade in hand,
Guarding the tower
That leads to our heart,
Crusade against the filth
Of the world that blends into darkness,
Spilling onto the canvas
Collapsing it,
Weakening it’s view,
But her and I press on
With our armor forged in our union
Rising against the oppressive stalk,
Without her, this fight alone
Would prove futile,
Together though, we tread
Above the devour
Of the endless black sea,
Dauntless amongst
The ever present Raven.

She Smiles

She melts the shackles around my heart,
Rips through years of webbing, spun
By the evil doings of Sirens,
She cures the throbbing hurt that blinds a soul,
Illuminates upon the hidden crack
Terrifies away the stalking vultures,
She lulls and races the beats of my emotions,
Setting fire when I need it
And extinguishes too,
She loves me to no end
And I can see that all in her smile,
I’m better when I see it,
I’m home when she exhibits,
I look for it’s shine, in the crowded of moments,
Guides me to the place where I belong.

~Thank you to my love for the inspiration you give me everyday.

Let it be

Let our hearts plunge to the depths
Of the unforeseen corner,
Do not place that harness net
Above the whaling waters
With waves swallowing and crashing
Upon the sharp stones,
Let our hearts free fall asleep
Until the never ending,
Encapsulated in stone now
Until warmth of the sun
Can pierce the black of the ocean,
Let it lay at the belly of the best
Listening to the entrancing sound
Of crushing wings, as we fall,
Let it be, let it be,
I hear no words of wisdom,
I shall fight.
